Imagine that you are attending a university whose students received a message similar to that by Dean Groves from the University of Virginia. Imagine further that you are in a leadership position in a student organization: a team (club or varsity), Greek letter organization, special interest group. Imagine further that you and several other members live in a size-able rental house in the community.
Write a response to the Dean, to be posted on the group’s Web site, to assure school officials, parents, students, neighbors, and others that at your house, students follow guidelines.
In the following scenario, image that you are a school official and write a statement to seek to resolve the controversy in the following news articles. Your statement would be posted on the school’s site.
The articles are from the Library’s database Nexis Uni (aka LexisNexis) (located on the Library’s database site with A1F).
At “Advanced Search,” search for “Thomas Benya” and “bolo tie.” The following articles will come up.
