In this project, you will design different types of analog low-pass filters to b

In this project, you will design different types of analog low-pass filters to be used to remove or
filter out noise from a signal. In addition, you will learn how to design a minimum order filter in
Matlab to meet a design specification. This project will require the knowledge that you have
obtained in Chapter 3 (Frequency response), Chapter 2/7 (Signals and FFT), and Chapter 6
(Filter design) throughout the course. You are required to turn in a written project report. The
report should provide a summary of how you went about Part A and Part B, including any
appropriate Matlab plots, data analysis/interpretation, and discussion. The report should be
wordprocessed, 1.5 spaced, and font size 12. You do not need to turn in any Matlab code used for
this project.
Pre-requirements
1. Make sure you have access to MATLAB software.
2. Watch the following three youtube videos to learn built-in filter design functions in
MATLAB and how to design a filter to meet a design specification. These videos provide
a step-by-step guide for creating codes for designing a filter and a good explanation on
the basics of filter design. The first two videos are related to Part A and the third video is
related to Part B.
