The first meeting (initial conversation) with Lance Aston provides some indicators regarding the needs of AirWorks which will send you on your data collection trail. Before you collect data, you need to get an idea of what is happening at AirWorks. You know Aston wants safety training, but you must be able to express that need in the context of AirWorks’ business needs.
What questions will you ask Aston to determine why he wants safety training? Is he capitalizing on an opportunity? Does he need to resolve a problem? Is there a business strategy that he needs to support?
You and your team have 45 minutes to interview Lance Aston. Create and agree on at least six interview questions to ask Aston that will give you a clear picture of the business needs and what data you need to collect. For each question explain the reason why you chose that question.
Remember when you conducted your external scan? You should have collected information on why safety training adds value to a business. Include information from your external scan in your paper.
