Persuasive Speech

Topic: Is it better for a young child to attend daycare or stay home with a parent? Here are the details about your speech assignment:

1. Your persuasive speech must be between 6-8 minutes.
2. You need to implement all three rhetorical appeals – ethos, pathos and logos.
3. You must cite at least FOUR credible sources in the main points of your speech.
   1. One citation for the problem
   2. One citation for the opposing view
   3. One citation for the solution
   4. One citation for the benefit/visualization
4. You are required to have at least 4 visual aids – one for the problem, one for the solution, one for the opposing view and one for the benefit/visualization.
5. Include the following in your speech:
   1. Introduction that includes:
      1. Attention getter
      2. Thesis statement
      3. Statement of credibility
      4. Preview the problem
   2. All required transition statements
   3. Body of the speech that includes:
      1. At least THREE main points with sub points – problem, solution and benefit/visualization with the problem or solution including the opposing view and a rebuttal of this opposing view
   4. Conclusion that:
