homework help
- Write down the problem statement in 1-2 sentences. (4 points)
If someone asks you, “what you need to be solved or what are you working on?” then a short but complete answer to that is the “problem statement”. Be sure to choose a problem that is relevant to your daily life and that may have an ‘engineering’ solution (e.g., maybe you need more light where you work, a solution to your parking problem, maybe some birds are littering in your patio). Ensure that the solution to the problem is within the scope of a student in this class (e.g., don’t pick ‘inflation’ or ‘world peace’)
- Write down at least 4 design requirements. (4 points)
Remember to include numbers in your requirements to make them quantitative!
- Provide some context to your problem statement as a short paragraph. (2 points)
Sometimes a short problem statement is not enough… give us some insight into your problem. Why is it an issue? What is the back-story or context around it? This way your classmates will be able to provide more effective solutions when they review your work.
