Course DescriptionProvides an introduction to doctoral-level coursework and research studies with a focus on academic scholarly writing. Thecourse includes an overview of doctoral-level support, tools, faculty experts and processes provided through the CSUDoctoral Writing & Research Center. The CSU Doctoral Orientation Residency is provided in conjunction with this course.Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for coursework in doctoral programs.

APA StyleAPA Style is the required citation style for the doctoral program at CSU. Learning APA Style early in the program is essentialto your success. While CSU provides APA resources, doctoral students also receive a copy of the Publication Manual ofthe American Psychological Association (7th ed.), otherwise known as the APA manual, as part of their orientation. You willutilize the APA manual throughout your time in the doctoral program, and you are highly encouraged to retain your APAmanual throughout your program.
