Students will select from the approved list below an African American literary artist as an
influencer of culture. In PowerPoint format, students will provide a brief analysis of the artists
background, literary genres, contemporary historicity, and trace his/her contributions to the
African American experience and American culture. If you would like to choose a literary artist
that is not listed, you can email your professor for approval.
