Topic 1: The Group Presentation
You completed the Team Challenge earlier in the course and presented your experience of this as a
team. Use this section of your essay (1000 words) to reflect upon the whole experience from
completing the challenge to preparing and delivering the presentation with your team. Answer the
following questions in this section of your essay and remember to include information from your
course reading and to cite the sources:
About the experience
• What did you find most enjoyable about working in a team?
• What did you find most challenging about working in a team?
• What role did you assume in your team?
• What did you do to help the team the most?
• What might you have done differently?
• What team role, if any, would you like to assume?
• How will you develop your skills associated with this role?
• What did you learn from the experience?
When writing their essays, students should not use the above questions as headings where each
question is addressed separately. Instead, students should make use of structured paragraphs

Topic 2: My Personal Brand
Building your brand is a critical step in preparing for your first job. Devote 1000 words to developing
a plan to build your brand. Use Holland’s Personality Test (posted on Vision) and Schein’s Career
Anchor Inventory (posted on Vision) to inform your plan; attach copies of your test and inventory
results to your essay as appendices. Remember to include information from your course reading
and to cite your sources. Personal branding questions to consider in this section of your essay
include:
• What would you like your first job to be?
• How closely does your first job choice match with your three Holland Personality types?
• What is your dominant Schein career anchor? How does it compare with your Holland test
results? How closely does your Schein career anchor match with your first job choice?
• What are the benefits and limitations of using such tests and inventories?
• What skills will you highlight with your personal brand? How do these skills relate to your
first job? How will you learn your chosen skills?
• How will you promote your brand (i.e. social media, networking, face-to-face meetings,
etc.)?
PLEASE REMEMBER – to start your essay with an introduction and end with a conclusion which
summarises the main points which you have addressed. Importantly, when writing your assignment
ensure that you engage with academic literature – for example, books and journal articles. There is
a lot of studies on team work and career development. There is also a lot of interesting industry
information which may offer contextual support for your arguments. Remember being reflective
means you need to be critical. Therefore, use literature to support your claims and thoughts. At
least 15 academic references are expected in this essay. A maximum of four references can be
webpages.
