Activity 2: Interpersonal Activity Packet
Due: Sunday, July 22nd by 11:59pm
Instructions: This activity contains four different interpersonal activities. Each activity is centered on different aspects of interpersonal communication and identity. These activities will benefit you the most if you take them seriously. It will take some time to do these, so don’t put it off until the last minute.
You will be uploading your assignment as a WORD document on blackboard in the designated Module section (other document formats will not be accepted). Make sure to label your submission in the following format: Last Name_CIA# (i.e., Jama_CIA1). This assignment is worth 50 points. You will be graded on the quality, completeness, and depth of responses. Incomplete packets or those done with little effort will receive few, if any, points!
Activity 1: Addressing One’s Self and Values
Go through and answer each of the eight questions below, spontaneously and quickly.
Now, go back and reflect upon and answer each question again, coming up with personal examples of what you did and how that reflects on your self-concept.

Activity 2: Ask Yourself About Yourself
No one knows you better than you know yourself. The problem is that we seldom, if ever, ask ourselves about ourselves. This activity seeks to assist you in self-reflection. You should find this conversation with yourself an interesting experience. Furthermore, remember that you are constantly changing. Therefore, these self-perceptions and goals also change rapidly and often in drastic and meaningful ways. There are a total of 3 sections and all sections must be completed!

Activity 3: Choose Your Own Adventure
Author and activist Helen Keller once wrote, “Life is either a daring adventure… or nothing.” And while our day-to-day existence may sometimes seem to drag along, there is a lot of truth to what she says?
Instructions: Explain the significance to Keller’s statement. Apply her observation to your own life. Do you choose to seek out the ‘adventure’ in everyday existence? Or, are you willing to exist in the mediocre? Each of us feels conflicting tugs between coasting through life and choosing to live fully in each moment. Can you identify some specific behaviors in which you engage that make you feel like you are seeking your ‘adventure?’ Do you consciously choose to live mindfully in each moment? What happens when you don’t choose? How do the thoughts or feelings of others effect your decisions about how you live your life? In the struggle between acting the way you wish to be and the way others wish you to act, which force is dominate? In what ways does this affect your communication with others?

Instructions: After reading this module, you should have a foundational understanding of the interpersonal skills we use in relationships. For this essay, you can pick any topic (or topics) from the chapter module and describe how you are going to use your knowledge to work to develop your own interpersonal skills. In your response, you should describe what skill(s) you want to develop, discuss what suggestions the book offers to help you with these skills, and plan for working on improving your communication.
