Writing in 12-point font (Times New Roman) and within 1-inch margins, write a four to  five page (doubled-spaced pages) essay on the question below.  You do not need a title page, but you must cite if you take ideas or direct quotations from the readings.
Question:
Compare and contrast the major themes of creation and existence across the Dogon and Bakongo cosmologies. First what is your thesis, or the point of your essay. Second, compare and contrast the start or onset of creation in both cosmologies, including the creative force that begins and/or exists at the onset of creation. Third, compare and contrast the specific order of creation across both cosmologies. What do they convey to the reader? Fourth, what is the contemporary significance of Yurugu and the Vee in our contemporary context given the writing of ANI and Fu-kiau? In other words, how can you apply what you have now learned about Yurugu and the Vee to your life, if at all?  And, finally, discuss the most important cosmological idea that you take away from the reading.
For full credit you must demonstrate that you comprehend both cosmologies and the major terms and ideas that we discussed in class.
Structure:
* Each essay must have a thesis sentence which tells the reader what your paper is about, supporting paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, which summarizes the points that you made it your essay.
*The first time you refer to an author, use his or her full name.  After that, always use the last name only. For example: In “Maat Philosophy,” Muata Ashby, suggests that Maat is the order of the universe….. Ashby points out that……
* After using a quote, put the page number of the quote in parentheses.  For example:  Ashby provides a description of Maat as “order”…… (20).
* Often, you can just quote phrases or single words.    For example: Ashby clearly appeals to readers’ passions, calling the Khu  “light” (10). (Note that it’s not necessary to quote the entire sentence to get your point across.)

Our academic experts are ready and waiting to assist with any writing project you may have. From simple essay plans, through to full dissertations, you can guarantee we have a service perfectly matched to your needs.
