Summarize the artist’s biography.
What is the art historical context of the artwork (when, where, why was it made)?
Summarize the artistic styles and processes of your selected works of art.
What is the message and/or function of the artwork?
How are the principles of art are used to organize the formal elements of the artwork in order to reflect that meaning and/or function of the artwork?
The formal qualities of artworks include:
Elements of Art: line, color, value, space, texture, shape, and form
Principles of Design: balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition, proportion, rhythm, variety, unity
How does each artwork connect to your selected theme?
Works Cited list. Support your writing with at least three academic sources.
