Find a current event that relates to chapters 4, 5, or 7. Briefly summarize the current event and how it relates to what you have learned in chapters 2 &/or 3. You may choose something related to politics, celebrities, local news, etc. but whatever it is make sure that it is not a conspiracy theory, comes from a legitimate site, and that the event can be verified. You may cover a conspiracy theory if you are debunking that conspiracy theory and explaining how it contributes to social problems. You also need to come up with a solution for the article you have chosen. How do you think this social problem should be solved from a sociological/structural perspective? Saying something like “people should get financial literacy” is not an acceptable solution as that puts the onus on the individual rather than society, which created the problem. This should be a minimum of 2 pages double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins.
