you will need to develop a thesis that discusses
whether or not PowerPoint (Microsoft’s version) was, is or will be disruptive to society assignment is an academic type known as a review essay, in which the writer reviews several written works and then connects them together by finding some type of interesting relationship between them, such as, similar or contrasting theoretical background, similar or contrasting methodology, similar or contrasting conclusions, etc. Because the focus of our class is technological innovations, their affordances, consequences and implications, devise a thesis for your paper that explores whether or not a technology is disruptive to business (something that the ideas in the two papers should discuss).
Your essay needs to:
Summarize briefly (no more than one third of the paper or 500-700 words) the ideas / themes / evidence in the articles.
The purpose of this part of the assignment is to allow you to demonstrate clarity in your written expression. In grading the paper, I will look for a summary that is concise and clearly written.
The majority of the paper should not be the summary. If you find that you are using half of your paper to recount what is in the texts, you have strayed way too far in the direction of a book report. Remember that you cannot possibly relate all of the points the authors have made; focus on the central argument and on claims that are most significant to us as general readers and as participants in the discipline.
Most importantly, the essay must:
Analyze, synthesize and then apply the readings to your thesis (about two thirds of the paper).
Compare and contrast the readings in an effort to argue for your thesis. You could connect the papers in a type of dialog with each other.  If author A seeks to undermine a theory advanced by author B, then you may also wish to consider how B would respond to A’s critique.  It may help to create a “conversation” between authors even when they have not engaged each other explicitly.
This is where you can include some of your own observations and feelings about these readings. Be careful that you do not write too much in this vein however. In a review essay, readers (in this case your professor) are not so much interested in your views as in your observations on the views of the papers being reviewed.

Our academic experts are ready and waiting to assist with any writing project you may have. From simple essay plans, through to full dissertations, you can guarantee we have a service perfectly matched to your needs.
