Elementary school children, to include parents and educators of the Pre-K to 6th grade student audience. (You select grade level) Or Secondary age school children, to include parents and educators of the 7th grade to 12th Grade student audience. (You select grade level) Or An elderly population with a special need ( identify why you selected this group) Or A special population (ethnic, cultural or special needs) within your fire service area or where you live.
You will discuss in detail and in narrative form (3-5 pages) what impact your program will have on the target audience, including parents, responsible parties, educators and caregivers. You are required to reference the NFPA standards that relate to fire safety education, as well as any other source(s) you deem relevant and appropriate.
“Tweak” your program so that it addresses specific needs in your community and department. You are also required to provide an instructor’s outline with specific bullet points describing each step in the design of your education program. Although you are allowed to “research” existing programs, DO NOT SIMPLY CUT AND PASTE A PROGRAM THAT IS ALREADY IN PLACE. You are expect you to be creative and design an original program
