Choose one of these two questions to answer:
Explain the role of slavery in the development of the United States up to this point. Make sure to discuss and cite evidence that supports your argument, and cover the entire period from the founding of the original 13 colonies to the writing of the Constitution. Why was slavery established in the first place? Where was it most common, and why? How did it shape what America would become?
Explain three important differences between the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution, and why each document was approved at the time it was written.
