Each film we watch during the course is assigned in the syllabus with a corresponding reading or readings. Locate the assigned reading with the assigned film in the weekly schedule section of the syllabus. The reading assignment is also referenced in abbreviated form in the film response assignment folder in icollege. Watch the film and complete the assigned reading. For six of the total films this semester, you should submit a response. It is up to you to decide which six films you want to submit a response for. I recommend submitting one before the midpoint and spreading them out over the semester. Please note, a film journal is not a review. Avoid making value judgments on the film in your response in favor of descriptive analysis.
Here are the instructions:
- 1) Write a one paragraph analysis of the readings argument
- 2) Write a one paragraph analysis of the films narrative
- 3) Make two detailed, descriptive observations connecting the film narrative and styleof the film to the readings argument.
- 4) Include a header with your name
- 5) Recommended formatting: Times New Roman point 12 font, double spaced
Your response should be no more than two pages in length. Please refer to the film response due dates in icollege and record them in your personal calendar. All film journals will be run through TurnItIn software that checks for plagiarism and AI violations.
