The paper will be a 3-4 page, typed, 12 point Times New Roman font, double-spaced paper with 1” (1-inch) margins designed to give you practice writing academic papers and to help you think more deeply about key concepts related to this course. Please upload your paper to Canvas as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file.
Prompt:
Select the r Federal Budget article from the Hopi Newsletter (pg 15) that we read for class during Module 9, and compare it to the way that the Pueblo Dance Controversy was handled, as outlined in the Wenger reading that we read for class during Module 7. Discuss both similarities and differences. Also discuss what aspects of sovereignty are at stake in your article.
Conclude by discussing what previous legislation that we learned about in class or other movements or items that we learned about in class could be helpful in resolving your issue from the Hopi News. [use highway 285 controversy file (relating it to the issues with challenges among federal v state v local jurisdiction). and Indian civil rights act file (relating it to issues of Native American rights and autonomy)
