In a 3-5 page paper analyze and discuss the following:
A fundamental question in the area of ethics, and one that has been the subject of extensive research, is Can Ethics Be Taught? Socrates, and many other philosophers and scholars, would answer this question in the affirmative, that, in short, ethics can be taught. Do you agree or disagree? Discuss thoroughly, use appropriate reference to theory, and use two (2) examples. As you consider the broader question of whether ethics can be taught, consider also ethical reasoning and include an explanation of using sound and valid arguments as well as understanding fallacies in reasoning. Use an example from your own experience, that you are comfortable sharing, demonstrating your understanding and use of ethical reasoning and sound argumentation.
In completing your work, please adhere to the following:
- Your paper will be approximately 3- 5 pages in length, excluding a cover page and references, typed and double spaced.
- Use at least 3-5 scholarly sources (NOT sources like wiki, dictionaries, news sites, and the like) in addition to the textbook and primary sources.
- Your work should use headings to best organize your work (for cohesion) and use a formal introduction and conclusion.
- Use appropriate composition, grammar, style, and format.
- Use proper APA citation – both in-text and in your references page.
- Adhere to academic honesty standards- zero tolerance policy for academic dishonesty. See also the statement on use of AI posted in the announcements.
- Submit your paper in a pdf, doc, rtf format. Do NOT submit a link to a shared drive, etc.

Content (including substantive response to task, analysis, use of theory and course concepts to support main themes and positions) – 60%
Use of Appropriate Source Material, Cohesiveness, and Citation – 20%
Composition, Grammar, Style, Format, Length – 20%
