I have included documents with explanations for some of the most common grammar errors I find when grading English papers and assignments. This may be a review for some of you, and some of it may be new material.
Clarity in writing is extremely important, particularly for the Social Sciences, since human error is so common and the Social Sciences are all about human interaction. One tiny error can be disastrous in a report, memo, email, or letter.
Please take a look at the documents carefully, to make sure you are familiar with the proper way/s to correct these types of errors.
Once you have done that, complete the Apostrophe exercise, below, and then discuss with your classmates the decisions you made, and why you made them. You do not need to make any other grammar or sentence changes; only the apostrophe revisions.
Simply copy/paste the changes you made (either in a different color, or bolded, so your classmates can see what the changes were), and then follow that with a brief explanation of why you made some of the changes.
