Some Additional Information:

– For each geometry, the experimental procedure was performed twice for different heating powers: once with 12 W (for all velocities) and once with 14 W (for all velocities). This means that for Experiment 4 you have 4 data sets: 2 data sets associated with each geometry.

– The velocities of the fan were set at: 15% , 30%, 60%, and 75%. Velocities are mentioned in data set sheets.

– You now need to calculate the theoretical values and make the plots that are asked in the lab manual (remember to include title, axis labels, and legend).

– For the calculations of Nu:

You have to find the correct empirical correlations when dealing with flow over a flat plate and flow over a cylinder as presented in your Heat Transfer Textbook (Chapter 7) for determining the Nusselt number and hence the theoretical h value. Then you are asked to compare the calculated h value using the appropriate correlation to the h value obtained in the lab (experimentally). The correct Nu correlation depends on the nature of the fluid flow, geometry, and fluid thermodynamic properties.
