my research topic is on “textile origins and history”
in my research i have covered :
the origins of textiles like silk, cotton, or wool and how they were historically produced and traded, as well as how modern fashion industry practices have shaped the perception and distribution of these materials. moreover, how europe is undermining local industries in colonized areas. indigenous labor, cultivation policies, media portrayal of the industry.
i need to:
• Reflect on the lessons that can be drawn from Europe’s historical involvement in textiles.
• Emphasize the importance of recognizing past injustices and promoting ethical and sustainable practices in the fashion industry.
• Mention that this understanding can be informed by diverse textile traditions.
i will be attaching the couse syllabus, please let me know which of the readings could be helpful for my part and i will send it.
