If an individual received a fourth conviction for possession of a controlled sub

If an individual received a fourth conviction for possession of a controlled substance (heroin), would you support a sentence to a community supervision option, such as drug court, knowing that these program types have shown to be effective at reducing recidivism for some individuals, or would you support a jail term, due to the repeat nature of his/her offending? Would your opinion change if the defendant were a parent with dependent children? Would your opinion change if the individual was motivated to change his/her drug-using behavior, but did not have the resources to do so? If your opinion about sentencing would not change due to either of the above, hypothetically then, what circumstances relating to the individual and/or their alleged offense would need to be present to change your support for a community supervision option, or a jail term. Justify your response to all parts of the prompt.
