Imagine you are having a discussion with a family member, co-worker, or friend about marketing and that person says to you, “well, you are about to finish the class, so I have to ask: what is ‘marketing’ really anyway? I always thought it was either a t.v. commercial, a pop up on the Internet or a flier that you post in the grocery store.” How do you respond to them in a way that educates them but doesn’t sound like they need to take a college class to understand?
Don’t forget, marketing is now valued as a trillion dollar industry. Don’t downplay the industry, the discipline and your education in your response.
