Nurses use evidence based practice models and frameworks to transition evidence and innovation into practice. A EBP model explicates a process, that if followed, will achieve the desired result. That result is usually moving evidence based innovations into a practice setting, and then evaluating the outcomes, followed by processes to reinforce sustainability of practice changes.
There are many models, practically one for almost every occasion and situation. Academics, institutions, and organizations have developed their own models, and usually will use one model exclusively. Here we do not use one particular model. We believe that you should choose a model that fits the project’s needs best. Is that good news or bad news? We believe it is good news, as we think it will allow you to do a project that will thrive in a suitable model, instead of trying to fit awkwardly into a set model.
1. You will use the Stetler Model (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, pp 384-389) as one model for this assignment, and choose 1 more model from the list below. Steven’s Star Model is also described in your text (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, pp 416-419). You will need to expand your resources beyond the text and links below, and do a literature search for more information on the models named below.
