Objective: submit a a 750 word document outlining your research question. You will develop a question about your case study to answer. The purpose of this assignment is:
To create a research question that you can use to analyse your case study.
To focus your attention on a specific aspect of your case study.
You do not have to organize your outline as an academic paper with an introduction and conclusion.
Please organise your paper using the following format:
250 words – summary of your case study with references to support your statements with evidence.
250 words – discussion of how you can narrow the scope of your case study to a particular aspect.
250 words – propose a research questions that you could use to investigate your case study and explain it’s relevance to peace studies.
Please see the Rubric, you will notice that the marking criteria takes into account technical writing skills, previously assessed in the 500 word outline of your case study – Citations, Format, Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation, Organization and Language – but the rubric also includes criteria for a research question and independent analysis.
our question should be closed, answerable with a yes or no. It should also be concise, meaning no more than two or three sentences. Preferably one sentence if possible. Your question should enable the reader to easily understand its purpose without needing additional explanation.
Independent Analysis
You should explain how your question relates to materials and content from the class. You should explain how your question is connected and introduce some related articles or books, found through your own independent research, that you can use to support your paper.
