PART 1: In many countries in the world, people are forced to live on only $2 a day. For this homework, you too will be asked you to live off of $2 for one 24 hour period. In this challenge you cannot use electricity unless it is for school related purposes (for example, no TV, no internet other than work related, no stove, no hot water, no lights after dark, etc and NO PHONE, THAT’S RIGHT NO CELL PHONE USAGE!)
Please do not put yourself in harms way doing this challenge – adapt the challenge if you need to.
After you’ve attempted this challenge, write about your thoughts about your success or failure of completing this task. How long did you last? What was the greatest challenge in completing this challenge?
PART 2: Now go to your refrigerator and pantry and and see how many food/supplies are past due and have not been eaten in the last 2 weeks. Then look in your closet and see if you have any thing that you purchased that either still has the tags or has not been used since you purchased it. How do you feel about what you found in your fridge/pantry and closet? What other things, if any, in your life do you consider to be “wasteful”
