Peer-review Tasks
Read all the Summary portions of all entries. As a reader who is NOT familiar with your peer’s research, do you think that the summary of each source is comprehensive and clear? In other words, as a reader, can you understand what each source is about? Provide feedback.
Read all the Evaluation/Function portions of all entries. As a reader, do you think that the evaluation of each source is clear? Do you know exactly why each source may be useful for the writer’s research and what function each source will perform? What can the writer do to make their evaluations clearer? What would you like to know more about the function of each source or the writer’s evaluation of it? Provide feedback.
Read all the Connections portions of all entries, if any. Do you think that the writer has done an adequate job describing how different sources may be connected? What can the writer do to make the connections among the sources stronger? Provide feedback.
Re-read all entries. This time, focus on language and citation practices. Did the writer use appropriate reporting verbs? Did the writer use appropriate transitional devices to guide your attention? Did the writer pay attention to appropriate APA 7 in-text citation conventions and references? Provide feedback.
