An understanding of these groups supports infection management and informs the patient care plan. Describe the similarities (eg. chemical compositions) and differences (cellular structures) among the different microorganisms (eg. prokaryotes vs. eukaryotes) we covered in class.
1-C) The molecule oxygen is vital to life for my living organisms, especially for aerobic microbes. Describe the importance of the oxygen molecule as well as its dangers.
Group 2 topics:
2-A) Understanding the host immune responses in essential in the treatment and care of patients. Pick a pathogen (virus or bacteria) and describe the host immune responses that take place during the initial infection and all to way to the clearance of the pathogen from the host. Include both the innate and adaptive immune responses and the immune molecules and cells that are involved.
