1. Relevance (3 points). Identify a current economic event/news that is relevant to business cycles or long-term economic growth. News/articles should be collected from reputable and reliable sources (e.g., The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Economist etc…). Download and attach the article/news to the assignment. Highlight important information in the article/news that is related to theories studied in this course.
2. Content (6 points) write an essay (250-500 words) with the following parts:
1) A summary of the news/event.
2) a link to our lectures. Explain how in-class theories could be applied in the current you selected.
3) Personal opinions/comments.
3. Citation (1 point) Proper MLA citation of the article/news and other cited work.
In general, the writing assignment will be graded based on if you have succeeded in:
a. professionally writing and convey your findings.
b. correctly applying theoretical knowledge learned from lectures.
c. critically thinking about current issues.
