This exercise will teach you how to use various Photoshop tools including the patch tool, healing brush, spot healing brush, and clone stamp to retouch unwanted objects, textures, and blemishes from images successfully. Follow along with the provided lecture video within this weeks module to complete the exercise.
Download and unzip the sample files folder.
Open BubbleImage.png in Photoshop and add a Brightness and Contrast adjustment layer and a Levels adjustment layer. Use both adjustment layers to adjust the values in the image. Save the file with the adjustments as a PSD using the naming convention lastname_levels.psd
Open Negative.jpg in Photoshop and convert the image to a positive image using the Curves adjustment layer. Save the file with the adjustments as a PSD using the naming convention marquette_positive.psd
Open the Grafitti.jpg image in Photoshop. Convert the image to grayscale by adding a Black & White adjustment layer. Using a black brush on the layer mask, reveal the color of the background graffiti while leaving the figure in black and white. Save the file with the adjustments as a PSD using the naming convention marquette_colorreveal.psd
Open the MountainsandClouds.psd. Adjust the brightness and contrast of only the clouds using an adjustment layer that is clipped to the clouds layer. Save the file with the adjustments as a PSD using the naming convention marquette_clippedclouds.psd
