Essay 3:  Choose either Rogers or Purdy.  Read, or reread, the essay, consider the issues that it raises, and then go to the library and find two essays dealing with the same subject.  (You may be able to find these essays using any online library database .)  Then write an essay that deals with the same subject as the essays you chose.  Your essay should advance an original thesis on the topic, and offer a critique of all three articles as a method of arriving at your conclusions.  Please be sure to not simply restate the thesis of one or both of the articles, but to argue your own original thesis, and make the case for that thesis through a careful analysis of each essay under review.  (No forum responses are necessary for this essay.)    (Six Pages)
