The first essay will be based on “One Thousand and One Nights.” In the introduction, we are given very different views of men and women. Explain how men and women seem to be portrayed in this introduction. Think of this as something like a comparison/contrast essay. Compare and contrast the views of men and women as they are provided in the introduction to “One Thousand and One Nights.” You may take issue with these views if you wish, but do not forget the main emphasis should be on the views provided in the story. Make this a documented essay and bring in at least two sources in addition to the story which add some insight to the story and/or the historical views of men and women in that time.
