–The Research Encounter is an opportunity for students to investigate a specifi

–The Research Encounter is an opportunity for students to investigate a specific artist and/or work of art. In this exploration, students will choose from a list of options. Students will determine how the belief systems, values, and norms of the society and era affected this artist’s message or the meaning of the art.
–Audio is optional.
–RESEARCH IS REQUIRED. STUDENTS MUST INDICATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE READING ASSIGNMENT IN THE TEXTBOOK AND OTHER APPROPRIATE RESOURCES.
–In text citation and a list of references correctly formatted are both required.
The Power Point presentation will include the following:
1. Name of artist and title of artwork. Date artist lived or art completed.
2. Describe the time period and how what was taking place at the time may have influenced the message or meaning of the artwork. What events were taking place socially, politically, culturally, globally. Research is required here.
3. Discuss three important features of the art and the meaning and purpose of the work. Give one interesting fact about the artwork. Research is required here.
4. Briefly explain why this artist’s work is essential or important. Include facts, statistics and research to support statements and claims.
5. In text citation and a list of references formatted correctly are required.
Seven (7) minimum slides to be included.
Minimum of three (3) references required including the textbook.
