To start, for this week’s discussion, students are to post and discuss two to three ideas of current issues and trends in Criminal Justice they feel may be an interesting topic to tackle for this course. Give this considerable thought. These are topics or subjects that have caught your interest over the course of your degree program. Now is your opportunity to select something you want to delve into further and research more. Don’t select something you have extensive experience in or subject matter expertise. This should be something you are researching in depth without personal experience or perspective.
Using these two to three ideas you listed, students are to also construct an argumentative thesis statement on the issues they selected and discuss them. So for your initial discussion post, that’s a one sentence thesis statement for each topic, and discussion below that topic of what you’d want to explore or prove regarding it.
