Goal: Students gain insight into their approach to decision making.

Introduction: Some people are more aggressive in the way they communicate, others are more submissive, and still others are assertive. An assertive communication style is one that conveys respect for others as well as yourself, and it engenders respect from others for you.
Goal: Students identify the extent to which they are assertive communicators.
Week 10 Subject Matter: Communication
Reflection could occur on any chapter 9 section. The Communication and the Organizational Communication sections are recommended.
Assessment: Listening Self-Assessment
Introduction: Listening is not the same as hearing. Hearing is passive; listening is an active search for meaning. Active listening plays an important role in communication and is especially important for effective leadership.
Goal: Students self-assess their listening skills.
