The Final Exam Assignment
Objective: The goal of this assignment is to revisit an idea or theme that we have considered in this
course about interwar America and to produce a document that demonstrates your analysis of the era.
Instructions: I’ve expanded the “poster presentation” assignment noted on the syllabus, so that you may
choose and complete one of the following assignments for the last 10% of your final grade.
1. Give a “poster presentation” in class on Tuesday, May 3rd Wednesday, May 9. Choose a topic
from the course that you would like to explore and give a general presentation using a traditional
PowerPoint slide show during the final exam period. You will submit a print out of the
PowerPoint slide show with your notes for a grade. You must declare your intent to give this
presentation by May 2.
2. Re-write an essay that you have already submitted for this course. You may choose from the
Mob Violence, Harlem Renaissance, or Great Depression papers. The revised essay must be at
least 5-pages long and it should expand upon the themes you have already raised in your first
paper. This revised paper is due in class, Wednesday, May 9, during the final exam period.
