Here you will submit a complete draft (~750 words) of your Project 1 Essay in which you apply the concepts learned in the reading to your discourse community and to the theme of the course.
Project 1 Essay Criteria
A successful Project 1 Essay will meet the following criteria:
- Define clearly the following terms
- Rhetoric
- Discourse
- Discourse Communities
- Use the evidence (i.e., quotes and paraphrases) from the readings to support and explain each of the definitions provided
- Apply the definitions provided to characterize the observations of the students chosen discourse community
- Explicitly establish how and why the students chosen discourse community meets the criteria for a discourse community
- Use effective academic writing style, to include citations and references
