You are expected to demonstrate an understanding of the forms and classifications of words in English and of the criteria you can apply when selecting suitable vocabulary for classroom teaching. In your assignment, you should first outline how you are currently teaching vocabulary and explain briefly the rationale for your approach, including your criteria for vocabulary selection. You should then evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your methods, outline some of the major difficulties that learning vocabulary may cause your pupils and suggest how you can help them to overcome these. To substantiate your analysis and discussion, you may attach some of your teaching materials as appendices. If you are not teaching any English class at present, you should reflect on your past experience, or you may interview your English colleagues or others to help you complete your evaluation. It is important, however, that you do the evaluation and suggestion parts on your own.
