Spontaneous versus Planned
For this assignment you will conduct two observations within your place of employment or with other children that you may know. Please open the CT ELDS document and determine standards you would like to assess the children on prior actually observing them. You should find standards related to the mathematical and creative arts domains. Once you find the standards you wish to use for assessing, determine the observation method that you would like to use to document the children’s learning through spontanous observation. Then, conduct your observations. Once you record your observations (using what you have learned in this course), you will analyze each observation and place the children somewhere on the rating scale. Once you know where you want to place the children, then create a plan of action to move the children to the next point on that developmental scale. You will submit the following for this assignment:
Spontaneous observation of child based on predetermined selection of standards in the mathematical domain.
Spontaneous observation of child based on predetermined selection of standards in the creative arts domain.
Analysis of observation.
Rating of each child based on the ELDS or DOTS or other rating scale.
