Behavioral Multicultural Resource Guide: Select one culture. (a group project or
individual—your choice) If you select to work in groups, you may have up to four students in a
group. Students will collect information about diverse cultures and their impact on behavior,
communication, and family expectations. Recommendations regarding culturally sensitive
behavior management and classroom instruction will be included–particularly for ELL and LEP
students. In a nutshell, you are to include information about a culture that will help you as a
teacher understand how cultural characteristics, beliefs and traditions have an impact of
behavior. The goal is to better understand how you can successfully teach all cultures and not
discriminate based on culture. Without this understanding one may misunderstand and not meet
the needs of all students.
