Take a moment to think about the relationships in your life. Over the course of your lifetime, you will develop close associations with family, peers, classmates, colleagues in your workplace, and maybe even strangers. In order to strengthen supportive relationships in your life, it can be helpful to view these interconnections as an account at a bank. Just as you make banking transactions daily in your life as you shop or earn income, you are also making metaphoric deposits and withdrawals into a relationship account with others every day. By become more aware of transactions that deposit or add to your relationship account and limiting those that withdraw from the account, you can increase your own self-satisfaction, nurture positive relationships in your life, and make you more successful in your career.

This assignment includes two components. Both components must be completed.

Part 1: Complete the attached (25 points)

Part 2: Write a Reflective Paper using the following questions as guiding points: (50 points)

  1. Were you surprised at the balance in your relationship account at the end of the worksheet? Why or why not?
  2. How can you increase the deposits in your relationship account? Please provide at least 2 specific examples.
  3. How can you decrease the withdrawals in your relationship account? Please provide at least 2 specific examples.
  4. Describe a past or current relationship, where you have engaged in behaviors that led to withdrawals in the relationship account of another.
  • Give at least 2 specific examples of your actions which caused the withdrawals.
  • Give at least 3 examples of actions (Remember you must do an extra deposit to return the account to a positive balance.) you could take to return the relationship account back to a positive balance.
