Review the Week 5 Learning Resources. Reflect on the reasons for choosing whole-group versus small-group instruction as well as how to manage cooperative learning groups. Ask your host teacher to explain his or her reasons for when to use whole-group versus small-group instruction. Ask your host teacher to discuss the use of whole-group and small-group instruction in a virtual learning environment. In your host class, ask students to establish and develop expectations for working in a whole group or a small group. You and the students should: Identify whether you will identify and define whole-group or small-group norms and expectations Develop expectations for interactions to work cooperatively and promote support and learning while working in groups Establish norms for group behavior Create discussion stems to foster a positive climate and respect while working in groups Identify ways to address conflict among the group members BY DAY 7 Create a graphic organizer with group expectations, norms, discussion stems, and ways to address conflict that could be distributed or posted in the classroom as a reminder of expectations for the students. The graphic organizer may also be a tool for the teacher to remind students of expectations prior to whole- or small-group activities. Write a 1-page explanation of the graphic organizer. Include a paragraph about how the expectations outlined in your graphic organizer might differ in an online environment. Submit the graphic organizer and explanation as separate Word documents.
