Assignment: Application of Public Health & Measurement Burden to Proposal Context
Purpose: Students will apply their knowledge of public health and measurement burden to the context of their quality improvement proposal.
Instructions: This assignment will be a 2-3 page paper and will include the following headers:
- Introduction (1st Header)
- Organization Context (2nd Header)
- Frame the organization (hospital, clinic or other) you utilized for your quality improvement proposal
Consider the organization that you wrote about for your quality improvement proposal. Then answer the following:
- Challenges (3rd header)
- List at least one way your organization might be challenged by public health concerns with respect to the improvement of quality and safety.
- Study of Public Health (4th Header)
- Consider at least one way that the study of public health could provide insights to address the need for improvement. If you do not believe public health could be useful in addressing the issues your organization is facing, please explain.
- Measurement Burden (5th Header)
- Discuss how measurement burden represents a challenge to those in your organization in applying your improvement proposal.
- Conclusion (6th header)
You will need at least four references and one must be your textbook and three scholarly journal articles to support your paper and the articles should not be any older than four years. should be followed for in-text citations and reference list.

Purpose: To reflect on disparities in health and healthcare and how your views impact your work to reduce them.
Instructions: In this assignment you will write a 750-1000 word reflective, paper, using 3-4 scholarly resources, including a cover sheet, in-text citations, and a reference page. The cover sheet and reference page are not counted toward the overall page count.
In this paper address the following:
- connect historical and modern causes of disparities
- assess past and current methods of reducing disparities
- brainstorm (based on evidence-based research) potential future methods of reducing health disparities and healthcare disparities
- reflect on how your ethical and religious views impact work to reduce disparities in health and healthcare
- reflect on how healthcare administrators can use public health concepts and research to reduce disparities and improve healthcare
- feel free to make other connections and comment on other aspects of disparities in health and healthcare not mentioned here
