Designing your Data Meeting and Action Plan
We have discussed the importance of gathering accurate data; however, the data is only as useful as its analysis and application. For this assignment, you will design a one-hour data team meeting and an action plan for the remainder of the school year (January to June).
For the one-hour meeting:
● Who is the team?
● What data will you provide ahead of time?
● What questions will accompany the data? What are the “look for”?
● In what theory/research are you anchoring this approach to analyzing and acting upon data?
For the action plan:
● What are the next steps following this meeting from January to June?
● How will this approach to data be reflected in your PD, content meetings/grade level meetings, walk-throughs, and formal observations?
● Is there work that should happen in these months to prepare for summer work? If so, what is it?
For submission:
● Data team meeting agenda
– Who is attending?
– What is the pre-work?
– Who is responsible for each piece of the meeting?
– How much time will be spent on each piece of the agenda?
– What are the next steps? When are they due? Who is responsible?
● Action plan for January to June (Note: The action plan should include preparation for summer work.)
