Whether you plan to stay at FSCJ to complete a baccalaureate degree, or if you plan to transfer to another institution, you have made a choice to commit to several years of hard work to earn a degree or credential. This discussion provides an opportunity to reflect on your reasons for attending FSCJ and how prioritizing your learning environment might help you make progress toward your educational and career goals.

For this Discussion Board, read and reflect on sections 1.1 Why College, 3.2 Time Management in College, and 3.5 Prioritization: Self-Management of What You Do and When You Do It.

In your initial response, write about the following prompts:

  1. Why are you in college? In what ways will earning a college degree be valuable to you now and in the future? Be sure to describe the financial, career, and personal benefits to earning a college degree.
  2. College requires you to take time to study and prepare for your classes. Take the time to think about where and when you will do your schoolwork. Then, share details about your ideal learning environment. What can you do to help ensure your learning environment will be helpful rather than harmful or distracting? What doesnt work for you?
