Week 5B: The Abortion DebateFor the second current issue for this week, you’ve read two arguments on the abortion issue. Which of them do you think provides the better reasoning? Why?
It’s important when evaluating these arguments from a philosophical point of view, to keep our personal opinions and biases as much out of the conversation as humanly possible. We may already have strong feelings on this issue, but here we are trying to determine the strength of the arguments we have read. What makes an argument strong or weak? The answer is found in how well the reasons support the conclusion. Do Thompson and Marquis give good reasons that support their conclusions? If so explain why. If not, explain why not.
