What ethical issues did the research pose, and how were they resolved? Does it seem that subjects were appropriately protected? These questions can also be found in your text on page 83 under “Exercises: #7.”
In order to complete this assignment properly, you should first print the article and read it 2 to 3 times highlighting and making notes (or save it and add notes electronically if you don’t have a printer). Keep the two questions in mind as you are reading. Then write a rough first draft, read the highlighted portions again, and finalize your answer. I will be able to tell if 1) you thoroughly read the article, and 2) if you thoughtfully answered the question. This is an interesting read on vulnerable populations and how to appropriately engage in ethical qualitative research in their homes.
Please use your own words and do not pull sentences directly from the article. You are to answer these questions by summarizing what you have read and creating your own response. The summary should be 2-3 pages in length. Remember, you will have to read the entire article to gather information from all of the different interviews the researchers conducted.
