The world has seen a significant increase in youth violence. These incidents are occurring in homes, retail spaces, schools, and street corners. As the criminal justice system attempts to suppress juvenile antisocial activities, they rely on criminologists to provide a variety of theoretical perspectives to help understand the behaviors and identify the root causes, which are critical in determining policies and system strategies.
Based on your readings and research, address the following issues:
1. Identify and provide an overview of four (4) different explanations/theories for juvenile antisocial behavior that you believe can provide the foundation for criminal justice policy and violence reduction strategies.
2. Include a hypothetical example for each.
3. Based on the theories that you chose, develop generic policy statements for each that incorporate the foundation of the theory. These should be brief, yet focused (approximately 3-4 sentences each).
4. Be sure to include source citations where appropriate.
