What a pleasure it is to teach English 218/Advanced Composition! I’m looking forward to working with you. Here are some details about me:
Professional background: I’ve been teaching for 30 years. I have a B.A. degree in English/Journalism and a M.A. in English, both from Jackson State. I completed course work for the PhD in English/Composition and Rhetoric at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, but I have not written my dissertation. My research interests include Hip Hop studies; service-learning in college writing courses; and students’ transfer of classroom knowledge to campus and community leadership. Teaching is an opportunity, passion, and responsibility that I take seriously. There is a reason I’ve remained in the field of education so long: I love it!
Family: Of the many blessings in my life, family is most special, especially my two daughters, ages 21 & 24, and my parents. They inspire me!
Hobbies: Exercising, mountain hiking, shopping at farmer’s markets, travelling, and writing
