My name is Amira Williams, and I lost my father due to multiple strokes when I was entering high school, which left me devastated, depressed, lost and not wanting to move forward. I helped my mom as his caregiver for 3 years before his passing, providing whatever help that was needed in order for him to be comfortable. After his death my mom had me in therapy for my 1st 3 years of high school, which has really helped me. At one point I was not thinking of ever attending college because I was so depressed, but after therapy I have gotten back to my old self and realizing how much I want in life, and how it would have made my father proud. I am a senior now, and I know that I want to study Criminology, and one day work in Forensics because that is my passion. I have always been interested in true crime, equal and fair justice, uncovering truths, and helping those that can’t help themselves. I have a renewed focus on achieving every goal that I set for myself, and know that I will succeed because of my determination. I truly feel that if I were accepted into your organization, that I would thrive because I am driven and can see my future, which now looks so bright.
